PVC can be seen everywhere in people's daily life. The natural color of PVC is slightly yellow and translucent, with luster. Transparency is superior to polyethylene and polypropylene, but inferior to polystyrene. Depending on the amount of additives used, it can be divided into soft and rigid polyvinyl chloride. Soft products are soft and tough, with a sticky feel. Hard products have a higher hardness than low density polyethylene, but lower hardness than polypropylene, and can exhibit whitening at the bends

Wide Development Prospect of PVC Board

PVC can be seen everywhere in people's daily life. The natural color of PVC is slightly yellow and translucent, with luster. Transparency is superior to polyethylene and polypropylene, but inferior to polystyrene. Depending on the amount of additives used, it can be divided into soft and rigid polyvinyl chloride. Soft products are soft and tough, with a sticky feel. Hard products have a higher hardness than low density polyethylene, but lower hardness than polypropylene, and can exhibit whitening at the bends. PVC sheets are mainly used in many industries such as building materials, packaging, pharmaceuticals, and so on. The building materials industry accounts for a large proportion of 60%, followed by the packaging industry, as well as several other industries with small-scale applications. PVC can not only represent natural colors, but also represent people's fantasy colors.

PVC hollow panels are not only widely used in China, but in Germany, 40% of furniture is made of PVC as a surface material, such as desks, bookshelves, sofas, and kitchen cabinets. It is a widely loved, popular, and widely used synthetic material in the world today. Its global usage is among the highest among various synthetic materials. According to statistics, in 1995 alone, the production of PVC in Europe was about 5 million tons, while its consumption was 5.3 million tons. In Germany, the average production and consumption of PVC is 1.4 million tons. PVC is being produced and applied worldwide with a growth rate of 4%. The growth rate in Southeast Asia is particularly significant. What is the reason why PVC sheets are so popular? Let's learn about PVC panels by introducing their performance characteristics.

1. General performance. PVC resin is a white or light yellow powder with a relative density of 1.35-1.45. The degree of softness and hardness of the product can be adjusted by adding the number of parts of plasticizer. Pure PVC has low water absorption and air permeability.

2. Mechanical properties. PVC has high hardness and mechanical properties. And increases with the increase of molecular weight, but decreases with the increase of temperature. Rigid PVC has good mechanical properties, and its elastic modulus can reach 1500-3000MPa. The elasticity of soft PVC is 1.5-15 MPa. However, the elongation at break is as high as 200% - 450%. PVC has a general frictional property, with a static friction coefficient of 0.4-0.5 and a dynamic friction coefficient of 0.23.

3. Thermal performance. The thermal stability of PVC is very poor, and it begins to decompose at 140 ℃, with a melting temperature of 160 ℃. PVC has a low coefficient of linear expansion and is flame retardant, with an oxidation index of over 45.

4. Electrical performance. PVC is a polymer with good electrical properties, but due to its large polarity, its electrical insulation is not as good as PP and PE. "The dielectric constant, dielectric loss angle tangent, and volume resistivity are relatively large, and have poor corona resistance. They are generally suitable for medium and low voltage and low-frequency insulation materials.".

5. Environmental performance. PVC is resistant to most inorganic acids, alkalis, salts, and most organic solvents. Suitable for medicine, chemical anti-corrosion materials, etc.
